The seven continents have so much more than just seven different fashion looks. There are millions of different styles, and this is because everyone has their own unique style. Every country seems to have their own stereotype of what they wear in that country. So here are some examples…
United States
America has so many styles, which I would know since I live here. Typically, the style of what an average American would wear is a t-shirt and jeans. Maybe even work clothes would be considered what we wear because popular cities like New York or Chicago have lots of office workers who dress nice every day.
Switzerland
In Switzerland, the stereotype of clothing is long puffy sleeves and skirts for women. For men, they would wear long socks with shorts and a vest over a long sleeve shirt. In some cases, they will wear headwear like hats, or those headbands like in the picture presented. The outfits really fit the culture and dances they perform.
India
Indian culture is so unique with all the colors and silks the people use for fashion. Women are known to wear hijabs to cover their hair because it is known to be inappropriate for women to show their heads. This concept is used in Middle Eastern countries including Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Pakistan, and many other countries.
France
France is known for much of their unique culture, their food, history, and fashion. The stereotypical style can pretty much be defined in the picture to the left. This is for both men and women alike. Cause what doesn’t say French like a beret?
China
With how many people live in China, their style better be good. I think it means the expectations. The style is so unique and different from every other destination in the world. The silk and the colors are so unique and beautiful that can fit both men and women.
England
The fashion in England is mainly based on the weather. Almost all the clothing is trench coats and boots with long pants. It must always be cloudy, rainy, and cold there because you won’t really see them wear anything else.
All the countries listed above were very stereotypical. But all stereotypes in fashion among the different countries are based off of what their ancestors wore. With all the different customs present, what you wear does depend on where you live, and what you believe in. If you pay attention to what people wear in different places of the world, you may be able to unlock the secrets of those peoples history.
